The Master Plan will coordinate with the other projects taking place in Lincoln Park.
The Beaver Creek Clean River Project is a proposal of the City's Water Department and the Albany Pool Communities Long Term Control Plan, a phased multi-project District-coordinated plan to mitigate urban runoff to the Hudson River. Though the Beaver Creek project focuses to protect the environment and improve water quality, the construction design includes educational and programming opportunities, and beautification elements for Lincoln Park. The $45 million project is required as part of the 2014 NYSDEC Consent Order agreed upon with partnering Hudson River communities (Albany, Troy, Cohoes, Watervliet, Rensselaer and Green Island). This project is also being coordinated with the Lincoln Park Master Plan.
The Lincoln Park swimming pool and bath house were constructed in 1930, and are now listed on the NYS Register of Historic Places and National Register of Historic Places. In September 2017, new cracks were observed in the masonry of the building related to differential settlement of the foundation system. The City of Albany is now currently working with an engineering firm on the Lincoln Park Bathhouse Building Stabilization Project, an evaluation of existing deficiencies and an assessment to identify and prioritize necessary improvements.
The City's Recreation Department began implementing its Park Renovation Plan in 2017. The Plan will improve accessibility of play equipment, picnic areas and pathways for people of all ages and abilities, in compliance with the
Americans With Disabilities Act, at selected parks citywide. The Lincoln Park playground is slated to be upgraded in coordination with the Master Plan. When completed, the new creative play space will be enhanced to allow those with disabilities the same opportunity to use and enjoy our recreational facilities, as all others. The upgrades will improve safety, promote use, activity and development, because Recreation in Albany means: stay longer—play longer!

Coming soon! The Albany Public Library has partnered with the City to expand wireless internet in Lincoln Park, Washington Park, and Bleecker-Swinburne. Providing free WiFi is a way to enhance education, tools and resources in Neighborhoods that currently lack access to the internet. Each month more than 12,000 patrons use the public computers at library branches around the City, and more than 7,000 people use the library WiFi on personal mobile devices. Now, in 2019, the community will have access to this a new amenity in spaces that already connect community and fellowship with engagement and recreation—a great addition to the South End.
